Wow. Haven't posted in almost a week. I'd love to say that I've been busy, but I can't, really. That is, not without lying. Then again...
-I had a doctor's appointment...(My doctor thinks I might've cracked a few ribs in the accident...ouch.)
-I babysat, twice, for two different people...(Really like both the sets of kids. All in all, fun kids to watch.)
-I started a webzine with my sister (Experiment? is it's name)
-Been to church
-Got my mom's B-Day present (which rocks, I'll tell you once we give it to her.)
-Saw
The Dark Knight,
TWICE.
and
-Worked.
I'll start with the first...My doctor said I may have cracked a few ribs in the accident from being thrown against the seat, one on each side. They're pretty high up, right about where the bottom of my bra hits. They totally kill, but there's not a whole lot they can do about it right now, so I'll live with it.
Babysitting was pretty fun...with one set of kids, I almost lost their house key when we went for a bike ride, and with the other...well, it was John's younger siblings, so lots of interesting stuff there. :) (If you're reading this, John, which I know you're not, but still, happy b-day!) They're a good bunch of kids, and really sweet. I was pretty lucky, getting to babysit my two favorite families in one week. :)
The webzine's pretty lame, but hey, what can ya do. We're looking into buying a domain so it'll actually be a real website, but it's still "In the basement" (meaning we have to host it on another site, which is sooo lame.) If you're interested in helping, can speak fluent English and HTML, and under the age of 25, we'd be glad to have you on board. Let us know by emailing babibluebug@hotmail.com, and telling them that Rissa's blog sent you. :)
Church was...well, different. I don't know what happened, but here I was floating in my sea of skepticism and struggling with my faith, and then, all of the sudden, I got excited about it. I was happy to go to church for the first time in a long time. It was really cool, and now I'm paying more attention to sermons and readings.
Buying my mom's present was pretty rad. I sure hope she likes it and isn't mad, because we did spend a while and a lot on it. I even wrapped it up all pretty.
But, my favorite part of yesterday's trip had to be going to see The Dark Knight, you know, the new Batman movie? Well, Heath Ledger is the sexiest Joker in the history of ever. Christian Bale is a great Batman...but what's the deal with Maggie Gylenhaal being the leading lady? They could've gotten someone less...old for it. I feel bad about saying that, and she's an okay actress, but still. In a few scenes she just looked so ancient....Like a really old Kirsten Dunst. Anywho, besides that, it's a great movie, and one of the only 2-and-a-half-hour-movies I can stand watching all the way through (sorry, Lord Of The Rings).
Also, I saw this WAYY cute guy working...he looked about 16, had the most gorgeous brown hair you'd ever care to set eyes on, and...just....*sigh* I smiled at him, and he smiled back, and so whenever I went and got popcorn or went to the bathroom (okay, so I didn't watch it ALL the way through the second time.), I'd smile at him and he'd smile back and there we were, grinning like two idiots. I have faith in the species of Boy again.
Then again, I still really miss him (no, not Mr. Concession Stand..if you don't know who I'm talking about then you obviously don't really every single one of my 16 blogs I've had in my life :D)...maybe flirting was just a diversion from the fact that I miss him so much it kills. But it's been a while, and I should probably get over it. *rolls eyes*.
Oh, and there's been this crazy rumour going around that I made out with a kid I barely knew on this total loser's front porch, and some of my "FRIENDS" are spreading it because they have nothing better to do and are sick of their own lives. Seriously, that rumour can't be true for three reasons...
1.) If I liked someone enough to make out with them, I wouldn't deny it.
2.) If I was going to make out with someone, it wouldn't be on someone else's front porch.
3.) I was in Fremont the night of alleged face-sucking.
Lame-asses need to get the fuck over themselves.
Anyway, I've posted enough for a while, I believe...
Love,
Rissa

I'm sitting here typing because I'm incredulously bored. I really have nothing better to do. My parents are sitting at the table in the dining room, talking with these financial people that they're not really even that interested in. There's about five kids upstairs, three of which are related to me, all of which are yelling at the top of their lungs. "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" by Aaron Carter is inexplicably running through my head like you wouldn't believe, and my athletic headband holding back my shoulder-length mouse brown hair is starting to kill me. There. Just took it out, so that's one less thing bothering me.
My summer has been fairly non-extraordinary, seeing as the most exciting thing to happen was either me getting in a car accident or getting a job. I'll explain about the first now, the second later. See, I was riding back to a friend's house in another town after the fair (in her town). We were in her car, just driving along, when her phone rings. Instead of doing the sensible thing (handing the phone over to my older sister Ceci, who was riding shot-gun), she decided to stay on the phone. Her father was telling her to go back to the carnival and pick up her brother, but she was getting mad because she had to get us back to her house where Ceci's car was parked so we could drive home by curfew. We really didn't have time to go back to the fair. Suddenly, Ceci shouts "What the fuck, Sam?" and I look up. All I see is the glaring, angry red of a truck's brake lights before the crash and the blackout. In a few seconds we all come to, and the first thing I notice is the smell of smoke. The lights flicker back on and we all hop out (me after fumbling and fiddling with my seatbelt buckle for a few moments), thankfully all of us were for the most part unscathed. My other friend, who was riding left-back, was okay besides a small cut on her chin, Ceci and Sam (passenger and driver) were okay besides being bruised and having a small rash where the airbag hit them. As for me (riding back-right), my seatbelt didn't lock, so I was thrown against Ceci's seat with a...well, I can't exactly remember, but I know it hurt later. I've got strings of bruises still, and this was a few weeks ago. My back's so out of line that I'll have to go back to the chiropractor in a few days and my neck is still a tad bit sore. Thank the Lord we're all okay, though, because I was talking to the paramedics, and they said it could've been soooo much worse.
As for the other thing, about my getting a job, that's kinda a lie. I do have a job, but I don't exactly have any hours yet. I've trained for two nights (how hard can it be to wash dishes in a bar, you ask? Pretty tough, actually.) and I think I've got the hang of it. At least I'm not like this super-annoying kid who's not even legal to work there who hangs around asking for everyone's hours, and when he gets them he basically sits around and gets paid to drink free pop. I'm taking this thing seriously, because it's not mere spending money I'm after. I'm saving up to go to Ireland for either a year or a semester when I'm a junior. $7,000 for a semester, 10,000 for a year. I'm doing this plus babysitting every once in a while, but I've done the calculations and I'm not sure it'll all pay out. I mean, even if I do manage to raise the money for the actual trip, they don't provide transportation, school supply fees, clothes, or anything else I'd actually need over there. So, I must save save save.
I do believe I've talked enough for one evening. Fair enough. I'll let you go, nonexistent readers.
Blog ya later,
Rissa
